Major Arcana

Fool
Lying at the beginning of the Arcana the Fool or 0 card is set apart from other cards. It follows a different set of rules and is unpredictable. It could indicate a new phase in your life, a time to be spontaneous and act on impulse. Follow your instincts and believe in yourself, a journey of excitement and adventure is available to you.

Magician
The Magician is a sign that action needs to be taken, know your strengths and use them but be aware of your limitations. Now is the time to carry out plans, ensure you know which direction you want to go in and how to go about getting results before you start, once you have committed you will see things through, producing great results.

High Priestess
Sometimes getting where you want to go means taking no action, this is one of those times. The urge to rush into things can be great but you need to have patience and allow things to come to you. Be calm, trust your instincts and follow them but understand that your goal is still a distance away.

Empress
Where this card is shown it is usually to remind us to keep our feet firmly on the ground, the Empress is a carer showering those in need with love and attention. An appreciation of beauty in all its forms and a love of nature are more positive traits as well as the ability to be selfless and not afraid to show your feelings.

Emperor
The Emperor represents structure and authority. A commanding figure, he exerts control and strength. Systems and organisation are important to him. The card can be a sign of contact with authority or someone official showing power and control around you.

The Hierophant
Representing a need for knowledge. Learning from others around you and sharing education is symbolised strongly. Sometimes it is preferable to increase understanding in a group but at other times it's better to do it alone. It shows a need to be disciplined and to conform to the rules.

The Lovers
This card most often symbolises a deep and loving relationship, and is welcomed by those in love or those looking for love. If you've asked a question about finding someone then this card tells you that they are on their way. However, some interpretations can warn of having a difficult choice to make and asks you to remember right from wrong.

Chariot
Now is not the time to procrastinate. Charge ahead and get what you want, as this card is showing you that you are capable of achieving it. But it is also all about control, so keep a tight hold of the reins as you do not want to go off course. Careful planning and determination will get you to where you have dreamed of being.

Strength
It is true that we really discover what we're made of when we are up against it. You may not have given yourself credit for the strength you have showed, but strength can come in many forms. Patience, resilience and perseverance will get you through whatever you are facing now, and you will come out the other side with your head held high.

The Hermit
It is widely known that the hermit is a symbol of solitude. When the Hermit card is turned it suggests a time for reflection. It indicates a need to awake your inner self. Your circumstances at the moment are holding you back and therefore need to be dealt with before you can progress further. The card also shows that you may meet someone who will guide you, either physically or spiritually.

The Wheel of Fortune
The Wheel of Fortune represents the cycle of life and the different situations presented to us. Good luck and change are shown by this card. You need to be flexible and adapt to different situations in order to get the most from these changes, the key to your success is to go with the flow, be open minded and try to experience things you wouldn't have done before.

Justice
In a reading this card shows a need to make a decision and stand by it, the responsibility is yours and yours alone. Honesty is the most important word when it comes to relationships right now and any problems in a partnership need to be dealt with in a decisive and focused manner. Any advice you receive at this time should be positive but you need to use it to your advantage.

Hanged Man
This is a very complex card, it shows that in order to triumph we must first surrender, an ongoing struggle will get more difficult unless you can back down. Only then will the situation become clear and peace will be restored. As hard as it may be the Hanged Man says we need to reverse our usual actions – for example when we feel the need to control that is the time to step back and release.

Death
This card rarely indicates physical death. It is more an end to a situation and a fresh beginning. Ultimately changes are on the way and with them will come understanding and clarity. It is a case of closing one door as another opens, out with the old and in with the new. Sometimes these changes bring fresh challenges and adjustments will need to be made so a positive attitude and acceptance of these will be necessary.

Temperance
Temperance shows the need for balance, in a situation where all around you are panicking you need to be calm and composed. Now is a time for compromise, a period of peace and harmony not conflict is what is needed. Cooperation with those around you may require you to use all your self control but it will enable you to achieve your necessary goal.

Devil
The suggestion here is that you are in an unhealthy or unproductive situation. You are feeling tied down and controlled in a way that is stifling you but at the moment it seems you lack the strength to try and break free. This card is usually related to materialism and this could be what is tying you to a negative position. You may be doubting your own abilities so any lack of confidence needs to be addressed and built on.

Tower
This card will not be welcomed by those who dislike sudden change. The focus is on completely new situations, old beliefs and values need to be left behind and replaced with a brand new outlook. If it is too difficult to embrace these changes at least try to be positive about them. Take a new approach and accept that sometimes change is inevitable and in this case likely to be for the best.

Star
The Star represents a sense of peace and calm. It shows a need for faith in the future. If you have been holding back now is the time to let your feelings out. A feeling of relief will ensue and your inner strength will help you see that there is light at the end of the tunnel. You will regain hope and can start to work towards happier times knowing that you can be successful either in a project or relationship.
Moon
Are you feeling lost, anxious or bewildered? This card sometimes shows that you need to find your way back as you have lost direction. It represents the night and so it could be that your dreams are trying to show you what needs to be done. You should listen to your subconscious and follow your intuition in order to be able to find your clarity of purpose once more.

Sun
A positive card, The Sun indicates light and change around you. It shows an inner peace and a time for healing. In relationships it spells success based on strong commitment. A feeling of confidence and understanding will help and your energy levels will be higher than ever. If you are planning something you will have new purpose and your desired goals will be within your reach.

Judgement
In readings this card can show a need to judge but not condemn, sometimes judgements are necessary. Any changes will come from within and your spiritual growth and learning will expand. You will feel cleansed and ready for new challenges, knowing that you are able to succeed. If you feel guilt about a past mistake now is the time to forgive yourself and learn from this. Now is the time to move forward towards the fulfillment of your dreams.

World
Whenever the World card is shown it indicates success and a great feeling of wholeness. Your goals can be accomplished and success is now easily achievable. You are involved and actively contributing towards this and though it is hard work you can now see everything coming together. You are feeling fulfilled and satisfied with the way things are moving and can see that your goals can now be realised.
